INFORMATION DESIGN - WINTER/SPRING 2021
The Trash We Create

My Involvement
The Trash We Create was developed as a part of an information design class and was aimed at raising awareness about modern recycling challenges and the waste produced by online shopping, especially post-COVID. I conducted extensive research, identified key issues, and crafted a call to action that sought to inspire sustainable consumer habits. My goal was to engage a wide audience and inspire actionable change.
Design Process
In the initial phase, I gathered research and began formulating solutions, but I soon recognized that my first call to action—focused on reducing plastic consumption—was not accessible to all. This led to a revision of the approach in Phase 2, where I shifted to creating a more inclusive and informative scrollable piece that addressed broader issues of waste. The design evolved to focus on interactive elements that could better engage users.
Outcome
The final design incorporated both static posters and an interactive prototype, which aimed to educate users on recycling and sustainable shopping habits. Although the interactive features had to be converted to static screens, the project was ultimately published as a scrollable PDF, ensuring that the core message and call to action remained impactful.
